Hey everyone! I wanted to share what we are doing up in the forest in the Pacific NW!
Greetings NW Earthdance family!
The time has come again for EarthdanceNW! Join us for 3 days and 2 nights of music and celebration in the beautiful forest of the Pacific NW. This event is part of the synchronized global Earthdance movement taking place in over 60 countries and 360 locations around the earth. We are really excited with this years gathering and have brought together some of the finest artists and musicians from all over the NW to help us rock the planet!
The theme of this year's event is "Earth's Sacred Waters" and in that spirit this event is a benefit for the Sea Shepherd Ocean Conservation Society, based out of Friday Harbor Wa. These amazing people are the global leaders in the fight to protect the animals and ecosystems of the world's oceans. From fighting the rougue whaling fleets in the Antartic whale breeding reserves, to leading the battle against the annual Japanese slaughter of more than 23,000 dolphins, and stopping illegal long lining and shark finning in the Galapagos . With the support of the UN and working in accordance with the laws and treaties of the international community they stand up for and protect some of our most precious resources and species. The highlight of this event every year is the "Global Link Up" taking place at 4pm on Sat. the 15th. At this point all the Earthdances worldwide synchronize up and listen to the global prayer for peace. This year the prayer will be followed by the world's largest global OHM that will be broadcast and sent in realtime to underwater speakers placed in the major bodies of water around the world unifying our energies on land and below the surface. You don't want to miss this!
This year we have 4 stages of performance featuring a diverse lineup of Musicians, Djs, Bands, Live Pa's, Comedy, Spoken Word, Speakers and much more!! Playing a wide array of house, breaks, dnb, psytrance, chillout, psydub, dubstep, hiphop, IDM, glitch, breakcore, live elctronic acts, reggae, dub, worldbeat, funk, jamrock, pirate music, rock, soul, nu-age, and much much more!!! There is something for everyone at this year's event!!

"With incense burning between strings, wearing bells on both ankles, the passionate ritual begins. The stage echoes, rolling like thunder under his bare feet, pounding a mesmerizing heartbeat. Dancing in a circle, shaking his dolphin guitar like a shaman shaking his magic medicine rattle, he lifts the guitar to his lips and howls the ancient cries from the deepest seas, leading us on a mesmerizing journey...
Scott Huckabay is a brilliant guitarist whose groundbreaking style incorporates elements of Rock, Blues, Jazz and Fusion. To watch Huckabay play the guitar today, you are struck by his overall mastery of the fretboard and the way in which his fingers fly up and down the neck of his acoustic guitar. Including using a meteorite for a guitar pick, Scott utilizes every known guitar trick and then adds a few of his own just for fun. Behind the explosive dynamics and pulsating rhythm of Scott Huckabay's alchemical guitar work lies an inspiring story of healing and recovery that is perhaps, more powerful than the music itself.

"Baby Gramps is an amazing amalgamation of everything that anybody’s ever heard including Mississippi John Hurt, Uncle Dave Macon, Charlie Patton, Blind Blake, Captain Beefheart, the Tuvan Throat Singers and Popeye. Baby Gramps has created a highly developed and completely original musical concoction that is easily the most intriguing synthesis to come out of the roots revival of the late 20th Century. He plays beautifully “betwixt the cracks in the piano” a la Ornette Coleman, can scat the blues three notes at once, and has invented his own guitar technique he calls “scribbling”. Gramps does amazing tricks with timing, timbre, tempo and pitch that no one can hope to imitate, and reinvents himself nightly, never performing a song the same way twice. Jazz buffs will want to compare the two takes of “Nuthin’” we’ve included on this disc (Same 'Ol Timelously) with the one you hear next time you see Gramps live. "Seeing Kevin Sawka on the drums is the only way to believe the hype, the assumed exaggerations of his abilities: that he can play the most complex of jungle, drum'n'bass and breakbeats utilizing no loops and no extended samples -only his two hands and two feet. Whereas some artists claim to be performing live drum'n'bass, live electronica, etc., it's more often than not a drummer playing alongside pre-programmed beats if there's a drummer at all; Sawka, however, can perform each and every 808 bass kick, snare slap, and compressed highhat tick himself, in real-time." He was one of the highlights of the 2006 event and we are thrilled to have him back to join us after a summer of touring the world and melting minds with his one of a kind stage performance!!

We have secured 400 acres of private land along the Toutle river just outside of Toutle Wa.
The site features:
Amphitheatre
Nice large flat field surrounded by large groves of trees with plenty of room for camping and parking.
A short walk through the forst leads you to the bank of the river with over a mile of river front to choose from.
A very short drive to a couple of lakes for swimming, boating, fishing, whatever you please!
The event will be 1hour north of Portland, 2hours south of Seattle , and about 2 1/2 hours from Eugene.
Directions for the event will be listed here on the earthdancenw tribe, and also will be on the website and infoline the Thurs. prior to the event.
Gates open on the 14th at 6pm and the music starts at 8!!
$30 dollars for the entire weekend, $20 for just Sat and Sun. available at the gate.
Kids free as long as they are with an adult.
Please no drugs, alchohol, fireworks, glass, or dogs.
