The 37th Annual Whole Earth Festival is slated to take place May 12-14, 2006 on the campus of the University of California, Davis in Davis, CA. The festival boasts four stages of music and dance, a plethora of handmade crafts vendors and vegetarian food booths, educational workshops, children’s games and craft projects, and a whole bunch of compost! The festival is free for all adults, children, dogs, cats, and any other creatures that wish to attend.
This year’s festival will feature a performance by The Everyone Orchestra, a revolving cast of musicians, artists and activists brought together by drummer/conductor Matt Butler. Everyone Orchestra performances are known for their magical co-creations with the audience as the conductor directs both musicians and audience alike. In addition, the festival is one of the few events that will serve your food on reusable wares. The event is completely volunteer-run and does not answer to any corporate sponsors. WEF encourages folks from all walks of life to join their Karma Patrol volunteer crew. Information about volunteering and other aspects of the festival can be found at wef.ucdavis.edu.
